WW is not sueing over any Vampire or Werewolf mythological aspect, that is Public Domain. WW is sueing over Sony stealing the innovations to the myths WW made.
Examples of WW inovations over myths stolen by Underworld:
Werewolfs are intelligent organized species compared to the myths where they are solitary monsters that are affected by the moon. They can change shape at will, are not all evil monsters. Whitewolf came up with the concept of werewolfs as the goodguys and organized species.
Vampires living in a complex political structure like the Camarilla no Ann Rice and Bram Stoker did not have organized societies.
Vampires being split up by type or castes. The clans are castes. Example Toreador are socialites, Ventru are leaders. blah blah the movie has special groups, hunters, leaderpoliticians, etc.
Torpor, the elder vampires sleeping and awakeining to whoop some ass. Damn sounds too much like WW never saw it in anything alse before till underworld.
Anyways the point is WW is not sueing over Vampires and Werewolves its suing how the two are portrayed in the world. They invented a world where the two fit into a gothic/punk theme. WW invented the way vampires fit into the modernworld without going into ann rices psuedocatholic homoeroticism.
Because nothing about ann rices vampire world besides the vampires themselves fit into WW or vice versa. Clans, structure etc. But the way vampires interact in Underworld fits into WW except the names are different and simplafied"
